Arbuckle glaze test info

Lowfire glaze tests 1-6

All tests on Resolute Terracotta, fired to cone 03 sitter on ware bisqued to 05 sitter. Glaze brushed on. Fritted glazes apply fairly thinly. The thin side looked very thin, but did melt into a glaze surface.

 

1. Semi-gloss clear thin, frosty medium to thick, slight crazes thick
33% Arbuckle Surprise/66% Heather's Satin

2. Waxy, does not craze, frosty med-thick

3. Waxy. Small crazes med-thick. Slightly frosty thick.

4. Glossy transparent amber. Crazes thick. Moderate flow if thick. May bubble if thick. Amber Assault

5. Glossy, A few big crazes where thick. Does not flow. Slight honey tint.
